Job PostingWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to support our horticulture team, ensuring the efficient setup, ordering, and receipt of products. This role is vital to assisting with our production plan, accurate inventory, and timely deliveries to optimize satisfaction for both internal and external partners. The Purchaser will also manage vendor communications and logistics.
- Product Management: Assist in setting up items, enter purchase orders, and maintain a high volume of SKU data with accuracy.
- Vendor Communication: Liaise with vendors to secure updated price quotes, confirm minimum order quantities, and determine availability and lead times for orders.
- Order Expediting: Monitor and expedite weekly orders with vendors to ensure timely shipments.
- Issue Resolution: Handle receiving issues related to defective, damaged, or other problematic products, coordinating with vendors and warehouse teams.
- Delivery Updates: Provide timely updates on delivery or availability issues for assigned products.
- Reporting: Compile, format, and share analytical reports with the leadership team as needed.
- Shipment Coordination: Assist in organizing and maintaining records for incoming and green goods & supplies shipments from multiple locations.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the team.
Requirements
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 5 years in logistics or inventory management.
- Experience in purchasing & logistics in the horticultural industry.
- Strong vendor relations and compliance management.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Navision/D365 preferred.
- Knowledge of perennials, bulbs, shrubs, and trees.
- Proven ability to handle inventory setup and purchase order entry.
- Highly organized and capable of working in a fast-paced, schedule-driven, multitasking environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $43,680.00 - $54,080.00 per year
