7:00 AM: Optional Oudolf Garden Detroit Sunrise Photo Opportunity
Location: Oudolf Garden Detroit
Explore on your own and enjoy the magic of the gardens in the soft light of sunrise! Staff will not yet be present, but the island and garden will be open for those who prefer the quiet and golden hour for photos.
8:00 AM: Registration Opens, Coffee and Pastries
Location: Dossin Great Lakes Museum
8:45 AM: Welcome & Education Sessions
- Shannon Gibb Randall – Insite Design Studio, "Great Plants, Beautiful Resilient Gardens"
- Bill Schneider – Wildtype Native Plants, "Landscape Design with Maintenance in Mind"
- Richard Thomas & Meredith Simpson – Oudolf Garden Detroit, "Exploring the Oudolf Plant Palette"
12:00 PM: Adjourn and Walk to Picnic Area for Lunch
Location: Picnic Shelter #3
- Pick up a picnic lunch to enjoy at your leisure.
12:00 – 1:20 PM: Oudolf Garden Detroit Tour
Location: Oudolf Garden Detroit
- Stroll through the garden and visit Staff-Hosted Education Stations
1:30 PM Buses load from the Oudolf Garden for additional tours:
Stop 1 Detroit Bird City Park
Detroit Arboretum, Circle Forest
Callahan Park
Stop 2 Detroit Abloom
Stop 3 Stratton House Private Home Garden & Social
5:30 PM: Buses load from Stratton House to return to Oudolf Garden Detroit
6:00 PM: Arrive at Garden and Adjourn
