Beginning February 7, 2022, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) will REQUIRE applicants to get an Entry-Level Driver Training school certificate from a provider listed on FMCSA’s Training Provider Registry, before they can take the knowledge or skills test for a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). A training school certificate is not currently required.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If a driver holds a CLP, or was issued a CDL, or an S, P, or H endorsement before February 7, 2022 the driver is NOT required to complete the entry-level driver training.
