Coming into fall it is the perfect time to think about enrolling your company into the Apprenticeship Program and certifying your current, qualifying crew as Journeyworkers! As an MNLA Membership Benefit, there is NO Charge to enroll your company or your qualified employees to obtain Journeyworker status though the U.S. Department of Labor. Through the end of 2024, a qualified employee simply needs to fill out the required forms and documents to be “grandfathered” into the program and receive their certificate.  Beginning in 2025, qualified employees will need to take the Apprenticeship Final Exam, in addition to the required forms and documents.

The U.S. Department of Labor recently recognized “Landscape Management Technician” and “Nursery Technician” as Skilled Trades and certifying your crew now as Journeyworkers in both the Landscape Management Technician and Nursery Technician Programs will prepare them for the future as industry standards change.

Contact Becky Cybart at Becky@MNLA.org or (517) 381-0437 for more information and for enrollment paperwork.
