On December 30, 2020, the recertification renewal deadline for applicators whose license expired on December 31, 2019 or December 31, 2020 was extended to June 30, 2021. In addition to extending the expiration date, the rule gives applicators six additional months to renew their credential via continuing education courses.
Emergency Rule Amending Rule 7, R 285.636.7 states that, "A certified or registered applicator credential with an expiration date of December 31, 2019, is considered valid until June 30, 2021. A qualified certified or registered applicator who renews a credential with an expiration date of December 31, 2019 shall be issued a credential that is valid until December 31, 2022. A certified or registered applicator credential with an expiration date of December 31, 2020 is considered valid until June 30, 2021. A qualified certified or registered applicator who renews a credential with an expiration date of December 31, 2020 shall be issued a credential that is valid until December 31, 2023."

Renewal by Testing
In-person, paper-based testing is currently suspended, and all pesticide exams are being administered through the Metro Institute. Click HERE for further information regarding testing.
Renewal by Recertification Credit
Credits obtained before June 30, 2021 may be used towards license renewal. Commercial Applicators are required to earn 8 credits per category in which they are certified, as well as 8 for Commercial Core. Private Applicators must obtain 16 credits in Private Core.
Up to 24 credits in Core (Priv. & Comm.), 2, 3A, 3B, 5, 6, 7A, and 7F are available through MNLA’s Virtual Pesticide Credit Clinics. There are a total of 6 recordings, and each is 4 hours in length. Recordings are available individually.
