About Us

The State of Montana’s Exterior Quarantine for Japanese Beetle (MTQ-2013-01) helps to minimize the potential for introduction of Japanese beetle into areas that are not known to be infested.  This is what allows Montana to be a Category 1 state under the Domestic Japanese Beetle Harmonization Plan.  As elsewhere, Japanese beetle (Popillia japonica Newman) is a destructive pest that feeds on more than 500 species of plants.  These plants include trees, shrubs, field crops, nursery plants, vegetables, and grasses.
